» Velta R&D Center Attains ISO Certifications, Strengthening International Recognition

In May 2023 Velta RD Titan research center owned by Velta LLC received its first two ISO certificates.

Velta RD Titan is a research center where Ukrainian scientists in five years have developed a new method for obtaining titanium powder based on zero waste and a low carbon footprint concept. The technology focuses on achieving zero waste and minimizing the carbon footprint. Already, this technology has been granted three national patents and two patents in the United States. As part of its commitment to international standards, the R&D center initiated the certification process for its manufacturing operations, leading to the acquisition of the ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2018 certificates.

Andriy Brodsky, the CEO of Velta LLC, emphasized the importance of these certifications, stating, “Europe and the USA have recognized titanium as a critical raw material and are actively working to establish new supply chains for both titanium feedstock and metal titanium. Considering that our Ukrainian technology satisfies the two main criteria of ‘green’ production and geopolitical reliability, we are standardizing our research center to ensure transparency for international partners.”

ISO 45001:2018 certificate “Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems” reflects the company’s commitment to the employees’ to the physical and psychological well-being of its employees. It demonstrates Velta’s dedication to providing safe working conditions, protecting human rights, and eradicating any form of discrimination. The ISO 45001 standard draws upon the best practices of the International Labor Organization and incorporates existing norms and standards.

ISO 9001:2018 certificate “On quality management systems” confirms that the quality of the company’s products and its management system meet state and international standards both documented and practical. The document spells out the norms that must be observed at all production stages and sales of products, compliance with these norms is periodically checked by certification bodies.

Recognized internationally, ISO certificates have become the norm for conducting business in the United States and Europe. Their absence can be perceived as a potential risk factor for cooperation with partners.

ISO – International Organization for Standardization develops standards, compliance with which ensures that products and services are safe, reliable and of high quality, and production processes are built on the use of the most efficient resources with minimal impact on the environment.
